    Description

    Rare Ebony Black Hen on Nest Westmoreland Glass Oval Open Salt Dip/Cellar Dish. This beautiful rare, vintage salt dip/cellar dish is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. The lid of the dish, the hen, is removable, revealing the interior of the dish. The bottom of the dish, the nest, has a beautiful scalloped edge and features a basket weave pattern. The dish measures approximately 3.25” tall to the top of the hen’s comb, is 3.5” long and 2.5” wide.
    Both in interior lip of the lid and the interior of the dish are marked with the Westmoreland Glass stacked trademark. This stacked “WG” trademark was introduced in the late 1940’s.
