  • Condition: This is a genuine street sign that was used in Chicago where an amazing range of sizes and shapes of frozen watery things get tossed down on us by the gods, and the roads are in such disrepair that an amazing variety of hard objects get tossed up into the air by vehicles. This sign has survived all that, plus temperatures ranging from 400 below to 400 above. (Farenheit, lol!) We have made no attempt to clean it up, so you absolutely will be able to improve upon its appearance to some degree. Nothing disgusting or gross, just lots of dirt. No bent or broken bits. The sign you will receive is the exact one in the photos.

    Here we have
    a fabulous piece of Chicago history for the transportation collector, garage, yard, or man cave: an authentic, used in Chicago,
    marked "City of Chicago"
    Photo Enforced
    road sign. Larger than typical size for a speed limit sign -- fitting for the city of broad shoulders. The sign hangs crookedly in the photos but will hang nice and straight if you use nails in the top and bottom holes. (We only used the top one.) There are two spots on the left that are raised -- seems to be something like concrete that you very well might be able to rub off. (We didn't try.)
    We have quite a few Chicago street signs going up this week. Normally, we're happy to combine shipping at actual cost, but be forewarned that the cost of shipping the largest of these gets very expensive if the box goes past 1" in depth, so please check with us first if you're thinking of combining shipping so that we can give you a quote. Just message us your zip code and the names of the signs you're considering -- during the work week. Our shipping guys don't work Friday afternoons or weekends, so shipping questions need to get in Monday through early Friday to get timely answers.
